Roofing Built for
Valley Storms.
Shingle, metal, tile, and commercial roofing across all 13 RGV cities. Storm damage restoration with full insurance coordination. Construction-degreed leadership, family-owned, in business since 2009.
CCL Contracting has been a roofing contractor in the Rio Grande Valley since 2009. We're family-owned, construction-degreed at the leadership level, and our crews have logged thousands of RGV roofs through hurricane seasons, hail events, and 100°F summers. We do residential roofing for homes across all 13 RGV cities and commercial roofing for warehouses, strip centers, and offices from Brownsville to Raymondville.
The construction-degreed piece matters more than it sounds. Most roofing companies in the Valley are run by salespeople or trade veterans without formal training. Our project leads have engineering coursework behind them, which is why our scopes catch the things that get missed — flashing details, decking condition, ventilation balance, code-required upgrades. Same crew, same standards, every job.
We also do something most local roofers don't: we run the insurance claim alongside you, end-to-end. Storm damage in the RGV almost always involves an insurance claim, and the gap between a homeowner who files alone and one who has a contractor on the roof during inspection is significant. We've documented over 90% claim approval rates when CCL handles the paperwork.
Five roofing systems.
One trusted contractor.
Asphalt shingle, metal, tile, storm damage restoration, and commercial roofing — every common roof system installed in the Rio Grande Valley, by the same crew that's been doing this since 2009.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Architectural, 3-tab, and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. GAF and CertainTeed materials. The most common roof in the RGV — and the one where install quality matters most.
→Metal Roofing
Standing seam, R-panel, and stone-coated steel. Hurricane uplift documented to Cat 3. Energy reflectivity that lowers cooling bills 15–25%. 40–50 year lifespan in Texas heat.
→Tile Roofing
Clay and concrete tile for residential and commercial roofs. Premium aesthetic match for RGV Mediterranean and Spanish-style architecture. 50+ year lifespan when installed right.
→Storm Damage Restoration
Hail, wind, and storm damage repair across the RGV. Emergency roof repair tarping within 48 hours. Full insurance claim coordination. 90%+ claim approval rate when we handle the documentation.
→Commercial Roofing
TPO, modified bitumen, PVC, and roof coatings for warehouses, strip centers, and commercial buildings. Standing seam metal commercial roofing also available across the Valley.
→RGV roofs face three real conditions.
Hail
The Rio Grande Valley averages 2–3 hail events per year, with the larger storms producing stones over 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and metal roofing carry the highest hail rating available. Both qualify for TWIA discount eligibility on coastal Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy county properties — the discount often offsets the premium over the roof's lifespan.
Hurricane Wind
The RGV sits in the Cat 1–3 historical exposure zone, and TWIA — Texas Wind Storm Insurance Association — requires specific fastening patterns and uplift ratings on coastal county roofs. CCL builds to TWIA spec on every roof we install in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties, whether the home is TWIA-insured or not. Specifications matter when the next named storm shows up.
UV Degradation
RGV sun shortens roof life vs. national averages. A "30-year shingle" lasts 15–20 years here. A 50-year metal roof might pull 40 years. Material choice and ventilation strategy matter more in this climate than they do anywhere else in Texas — the wrong color shingle on a poorly-vented attic will fail a decade early.
Real RGV roofing
numbers.
Most homeowners file storm claims alone — and most miss line items. The adjuster shows up with a clipboard, walks the roof for ten minutes, and writes the scope. Whatever they don't see, you don't get paid for. As a roof storm damage contractor that has worked thousands of RGV claims, we meet the adjuster on the roof, document damage with photo evidence alongside their assessment, and supplement the scope when items are missed.
Texas has a one-year statute of limitations on hail damage claims. After a storm, document the date with NOAA records, get a hail damage assessment from a licensed contractor within weeks, and file before the year is up — once the deadline passes, the claim is statute-barred regardless of how legitimate the damage is. We work routinely with Allstate, State Farm, USAA, Farmers, and TWIA-issued policies across Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties.
There's no charge for any of this — adjuster meetings, photo documentation, scope supplements, code-upgrade requests. It's part of how we run a claim, and it's why our claim approval rate is what it is.
