Heat
Long cooling seasons put a premium on controlling heat flow and air leakage. Product selection, installed thickness, and continuity all affect how the complete assembly performs.
Humidity
Coastal RGV humidity is a slow killer for fiberglass insulation. It absorbs moisture, sags, and loses R-value. Closed-cell spray foam is hydrophobic — it doesn't absorb water, doesn't compress, doesn't degrade.
Storm Season
Hurricane season is real here. Foam selection and roof-deck applications must be evaluated as part of the complete roof assembly; insulation should never be presented as a substitute for code-compliant roofing, fastening, or engineering.
