Batt insulation
when it's the right call.
Not every job needs spray foam. We install fiberglass and mineral wool batt insulation across the RGV for walls, attics, and sound control — and we'll tell you honestly when batt is the smart, budget-friendly choice.
Spray foam is the best performer in the Rio Grande Valley climate, but it isn't the right fit for every project or every budget. Premium Foam also installs traditional batt insulation — fiberglass and mineral wool — and we'll give you a straight answer about when it makes sense.
Batt works well in new-construction walls built to a budget, in sound-control applications between rooms, and in attics where a full foam encapsulation isn't in the plan. Properly installed, well-fitted batts deliver solid R-value at a lower upfront cost.
Where we differ from a quick batt installer: we install batts correctly — cut to fit, no gaps or compression — and we'll be honest when foam would pay for itself fast enough that batt is the false economy.
Fiberglass & mineral wool.
Walls, attics, and sound — installed to fit.
Lower upfront cost. When budget is the deciding factor, batt gets insulation in the walls now at a fraction of foam's cost — better than leaving cavities empty in the RGV heat.
Sound control. Mineral wool batts are excellent for quieting interior walls between bedrooms, offices, and media rooms — a common RGV request.
Hybrid options. For the best of both, we can air-seal the critical gaps with foam, then fill the cavity with batt — performance closer to foam at a lower cost.
