The roof that lasts a lifetime.

Tile is one of the longest-lasting, best-looking roofing options for the Rio Grande Valley — and it suits the Spanish and Mediterranean architecture common across the region. CCL Contracting installs, replaces, and repairs both clay and concrete tile roofing.

Done right, a tile roof can last 40–50 years or more, reflects solar heat better than most materials, and holds up to Valley wind. The key is the install: proper underlayment, flashing, and fastening matter even more on tile than on shingle, because tile itself outlives several underlayment cycles.

We also repair existing tile roofs — replacing cracked or slipped tiles and renewing the underlayment beneath — and we coordinate insurance claims when storms or hail cause damage.

Clay, concrete & repair.

Install, replace, and repair — clay and concrete tile.

Built for the Valley.

Heat reflectivity. Tile — especially lighter clay — reflects solar heat and creates an airflow gap beneath each tile, helping keep RGV attics and homes cooler.

Longevity. A properly installed tile roof outlasts shingle by decades. In the Valley sun, that lifespan advantage is real value over the life of the home.

Curb appeal & style. Tile fits the Spanish and Mediterranean look common across RGV neighborhoods and adds lasting resale value.

Four steps.

1 · Free roof inspection. We assess your roof structure, tile, and underlayment and recommend install, replacement, or repair.

2 · Scope & estimate. Tile type, underlayment, and flashing scoped with an itemized written estimate.

3 · Install. Underlayment and flashing done right, then tile set and fastened to spec.

4 · Walkthrough & warranty. Final walkthrough together, punch list resolved, warranty paperwork delivered.

Tile roofing questions.

How much does a tile roof cost in the RGV?
Tile roofing typically runs higher than shingle — commonly $10–$18+ per square foot installed in the Rio Grande Valley, depending on clay vs concrete, roof complexity, and whether structural reinforcement is needed. The longer lifespan often makes it worthwhile. A free estimate gives an exact number.
Clay or concrete tile — which is better?
Clay is the most durable and color-stable and reflects heat well, but costs more. Concrete is more affordable and heavier. Both last decades when installed correctly. We'll recommend based on your home, structure, and budget.
How long does a tile roof last?
A properly installed tile roof can last 40–50 years or more. The tiles often outlive the underlayment beneath them, which is why correct underlayment and flashing — and eventual underlayment renewal — matter so much.
Can my home structurally support a tile roof?
Tile is heavier than shingle, so the roof structure must support it. We assess this during inspection; many RGV homes are fine, and reinforcement is straightforward when needed.
Do you repair existing tile roofs?
Yes. We replace cracked or slipped tiles, renew failed underlayment, and fix leaks — and we document storm or hail damage for insurance claims.
¿Instalan techos de teja? ¿Hablan español?
Sí. Instalamos y reparamos techos de teja de barro y concreto en todo el Valle con equipo bilingüe. Llámenos al (956) 463-4117 o (956) 492-9451.
Is tile good for hail and wind in the RGV?
Tile holds up well to Valley wind when fastened correctly, and concrete tile resists hail well. Individual tiles can crack in severe hail, but they're individually replaceable — and we document any storm damage for your claim.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. CCL Contracting is licensed in Texas with general liability and workers' comp on every job, and has installed and repaired RGV roofs since 2009.
